Sunday Snapshot: Taking a Break at the Park

Image
We started the day with a little relaxing on the couch. I made some really yummy fluffy pancakes, Chloe gave hers to the dogs :) but she will soon learn the value of my pancakes.  Then it was time to get busy. Jim worked outside today while I attempted to work inside.  It is near impossible to get anything done with huricane Chloe blowing through the house but I try.  About mid day we took a walk to the park.  Chloe headed right for the swings and said "UP". I convinced her that this one was more her size. This girl LOVES to swing.  Then it was off to conquer the jungle gym. She shocked us with her ability to scale the steps.  Last time we were there she needed a lot of help.  Not anymore Just keeping up was the challenge. Looking forward to a couple of more days to this weekend.  Hope we are able to take a few more fun breaks like this one.

Sunday Snapshot: Hair Cut

Image
Chloe got her first professional hair cut yesterday.  I wanted to get a little bob with a few more bangs so that she could wear her hair down with out it hanging in her eyes.  I am not sure that I am in love with it or got exactly that but it turned out cute. I think that when the sides get a little longer she is going to be sporting a cute A-line cut but we will see.  We went to a fun kids place that is down the road from my sisters.  Before The first cut Snacks we our friend during the cut :) Please excuse the Cheerio mash on her face.   I will get Jim to get a better picture of her later but he had better things to do than go to the salon with us girls.

Black & White Wednesday - 4 months

Image
4 months ago today we officially became a family of 3.  4 months ago this was our sweet girl. We rarely see this sad, scared, confused, face any more and for that I am thankful but I am glad we captured her expressions because even though this was a happy day for Jim and I, for a 15 month old baby it was not the same. She may not have been old enough to tell us how she felt but you can sure see it in her eyes.  In 4 months we have gone from a baby to a toddler, from scared and reserved to joyful and curious. Chloe has learned to stand, walk, run, eat food, like her daddy, talk, sign, sign and many many more things. She is amazing! It is hard to believe it has been 4 months already some days it seems like we were in China just yesterday and some days it seems like years ago.

Rainy Day: Sunday Snapshot

Image
It was a rainy weekend so all of our plans were kind of put aside since most of them involved being outside.  So Yesterday we decided to do some painting,  Chloe LOVED it and it was so much fun. The Green one is a work in progress and I hope to put it in her room when it is done. Then we moved to the pinkish canvas.  That is when Chloe thought the paint brush would make a good phone and had a pink ear.  Good thing she is washable :) But soon the rain became more interesting and we washed up.  She thought it would be a great idea if I let her take a nap in the dog bed, however cute I thought it would be better in the crib. After nap we went to a potluck with some other families from our area that have adopted from China.  It was a lot of fun and I hope that we are able to do this again soon.  Chloe made some new friends and had fun discovering the new environment. Hope everyone else had a great weekend, splashing and playing in the rain.

She's Sick?

Image
Chloe and I went to the doctor today for a follow up appointment for her respiratory infection.  I knew she was still coughing a little but figured it was on it's way out.  The congestion was clearing up but not completely gone.  I never expected, "well looks like she has an ear infection."  Here we go with a round of different antibiotics.  Although most of the time you can't tell she is sick at all.  She was all sugar and spice tonight trying on my hat and she insisted on wearing the coat although it was far from cold in here.   Yep, that is cookie drool down her dress.  I think she is getting in at least 2 possibly 3 teeth, this girl does nothing small.  Thank goodness for Shout .  2 things I rarely used before I had a child laundry pre-treater, one bottle would last us years I have bought 2 in the last 3 months and wash cloths.

Spring Fling

Image
Well I almost made the 30 days but I had a oops day on Saturday and didn't get anything posted.  I thought about cheating and back dating a post but then I thought "Really, I am going to cheat on myself"  Who is really watching and nothing is going to happen to me if I skip a day. One of the things I realized during this challenge is that I don't like blogging daily.  I think the requirement kind of took the fun out of it.  However, I do think I should post a little more regularly.  So I might start doing some weekly features like Sunday Snapshot or Fashion Friday or something fun.  It was fun but I am ok with the spring fling being over, lets bring on summer!  Thank you M3 for hosting the Spring Fling.

Happy Mother's Day!

Image
We had a great day.  It was low key and easy going and great.  Chloe gave me a pot she made at Nana's with pansy's in it, ahh so cute.  My First Mother's Day gift just from her.  She is so funny she picked a flower when we were taking pictures and then she tried to put it back on the stem.  Here are a couple pictures from this afternoon. I know it is late but I want to say Happy Mother's day to all my bloggy friends.  This has been a VERY long time coming and I am happy to finally be here. My heart is with all those who are still waiting, may never be a mother and those mothers that can not be with their children. Chloe is still feeling a bit under the weather but the breathing treatments and antibiotics are helping. She is a firecracker and nothing slows her down for long.

Quotes from a Friday Night with Chloe

"Apparently she eats pansy's, oh and dirt" "Why are you so inhumanly strong?" me: Can you hear with a tutu on your head? Jim: I don't know me: Well, I am here to tell you, you can't. "stop that was my larynx" "No, I don't want an egg I said book ." To the tune of Can't Touch This, mom's new song Pajama Time, I will spare you the video.

Sick Girl + Tired Mom + Laundry = Dress Up?

Chloe's idea of helping with the laundry is to un-match socks and wear my underwear as a scarf, I was too tired to argue.

Books

Image
Last night before bed Chloe read us a story, because she was not about to sit and let us read to her, oh no! But you know what she was pretty good.  The book is  Moo, Baa, La La La  and basically it has animal sounds in it.  She loves it!  She said most of the sounds as she got to the right page.  She is amazing.  If I can get video of it I will but you know how kids are the minute you pull out the camera they stop being cute We read several books at night and Chloe definitely has her favorites.  It is funny to see her go over to the shelf and carefully pick out the books she wants while toss the rest.  Here are some of the winners in no particular order: Hand, Hand, Fingers, Thumb, Moo, Baa, La La La, Johnny Tractor's New Friend, Water, Water Everywhere, That's Not My Tiger..., A Christmas Countdown, Bedtime Peek -a -Boo, and Goodnight Gorilla.              She has others that she really doesn't care for and some that only make occasional appearances

This is When You Know

Image
My Ah-Ha moment.  Well, I don't really know what that means but sometimes a moment in time slaps you in the face and then you know what reality is. As I was walking back to get a new ironing board cover in Target yesterday, Chloe found a baggie of crackers in my purse.  Graham crackers are new to her and I am encouraging it since it is so hard to get her to eat crunchy things.  What harm can come of a graham cracker in a cart, right? I give her about a quarter of a cracker and she proceeds to put almost the whole thing in her mouth.   I knew then, I was in trouble, but she tried to chew it, maybe I was about to be saved and she would swallow it.  Oh No! gagging, here it comes the part where I fish the cracker out of my daughters mouth, yea me. So there I was standing in the ironing isle with a kid in my cart and a handful of partially chewed cracker.  As I considered my options my moment came.  This is my life, my reality at this moment in time I am chewed up cracker holder.  I w

Chloe helped Jim make a dump run today and she insisted on the way back to walk in by herself.  Can you believe a couple of months ago she couldn't walk?  She is one amazing Chica!   I was so nice out today. I am ready hot weather and bare legs.  I am sure I am going to be just as happy to see fall roll around, that is why I LOVE living in a place with 4 seasons!
