No Ordinary Family

So I have created another to do list but it is just more of the same things but I really think I might get some more sewing done this weekend so that will be good. I am taking next weekend off so I really need to get a lot done but no matter what I going to take it easy next weekend. We do have plans but they are more on the fun/distraction side of the spectrum than they have been lately. No more news yet on BB I am hoping to hear tomorrow that our dossier is head to Burundi but I know it will more likely be next week some time. I am so ready to go, I mean, I am not really ready but I don't care anymore about being ready I just want to go. It is so funny to me, that in the beginning I really cared about being ready and having all the right things and knowing all the right information but maybe it is just a sign that I am older or more at peace with it all but I figure we will make do and what we need will come in time. We started the new year off kind of slow but that was great! After we got going we headed to town, I wanted new Christmas boxes in the spirit of consolidating and reorganizing. I am not sure how much of that was accomplished but they are now all red and green which should make them easier to find in our disaster of a shed. Shopping was great today no one was out. It was a nice change from the over crowded stores of last year (he he, last year like it was so long ago.) We ended up at Borders, I know they don't carry totes but we went to avoid going home and organize just look around. But how could I pass up such great bargains. I found these children's books for only $3.99, no I am not kidding $3.99. I even left the price tag on one so you would know that I was not starting out the new year with a big fib. Diana over at Diana Rambles led me to a blog readability site. You put in your URL and find out what readability level your blog is. Mine is Genius, now I think that means it takes a genius to read my blog and that makes perfect sense because all of my readers are beyond brilliant! Check it out it was kinda fun. Movie Reviews Today, Jim and I went grocery shopping and then came home and took down the tree and put away most of the ornaments. Above are the ornaments from the tree, I love them all and I was having fun taking pictures of them. We need to rearrange the living room so I have more room to play work out with my Wii Fit. I came home to a small package today, Yippee. I forgot I even bought these it has been a couple weeks. They are really cute! I should have got 2 caterpillars but oh well. I also got a renewal pack for our 171H from our agency. It is time to start getting things together, we are keeping our fingers crossed that this will be the only time that we need to do this because the next time it will cost us. The goverment has so kindly decided that we can have one free renewal. I guess Jim will have to find a doctor last time he went to the University Clinic and he is opposed to going to the doctor when he is healthy, too bad. This one seems easier than the last one with all the tests and I don't think it needs to be notarized boy was that a pain.

Today was another Monday. I think we should just skip Mondays, I am sure if we voted almost everyone would agree. It was actually a pretty decent day but I would not have minded sleeping an extra hour this morning. I got home to 2 packages of bows!! I went a little crazy the other night on etsy ordering hair pretties for Little Miss. I still am waiting for one. I love them all. Here are the pictures. I tried to buy ones that I had outfits to go with already. You may remember me going crazy at Gymboree with the panda clothing line. I just loved the lady bugs. I also am trying to find several sizes of red, white and blue clothing so we have a coming home outfit. I was the 600th customer at this site so she sent me the Corky bows as a prize and also these little green flower bows. That was so nice and I love them. I have see the corky bows and thought about them but I was not quite sure but they are really cute and I think I will probably get more, but Jim probably would like me to wait...

I have posted about our fury pets, so it is time that I post about our slimy ones. We have two small saltwater fish tanks. For our anniversary we decided to brave the rain of Seattle to visit some of the marine fish stores there. The selection here is dismal and when a shipment of marine life comes in it is usually sold out of anything interesting quickly. We got two anthias for Jim's tank they are bright pink and really neat looking. I tried taking pictures of them but they are really camera shy, I am not kidding. They school and swim out in the open most of the time until I take the camera near the tank and they hide in the rocks. Jim thinks it might be the infrared focusing? We had to remove the hawk fish that we had in there and we are selling him to the local fish store. He was territorial and even though we tried to rearrange the tank it didn’t help and our pink fish were orange with fright. Well, it has been a few days since my last post so I think I will start at the beginning of the long weekend. To start things out I got my secret pal gift for September!! I was so excited and I did not expect it so soon. I opened the package and found all kinds of onesies and t-shirts. They are so, so cute. Little Miss’s wardrobe is increasing quickly. It is one thing that I was going to wait on was clothing because we don’t know when we will get a referral or what size she will be. But you know what I figure if I keep the tags on things and if I can’t use them I will either find someone that can or have a big ebay auction. For now seeing the little clothes in the closet makes me happy. I convinced Jim that the “Daddy’s My Hero” top needed some little pants so we headed out shopping. Sunday, we went shopping and look what found its way into my cart. It is a super cute doll that Little Miss just had to have. I also found a cute white onesie on clearance that was irresistible . I have got to keep the shopping limit to a minimum otherwise we may need to get a bigger house before long. I am enjoying myself and I am keeping everything in the packages and the tags on just in case we get a referral for a boy. We asked for a girl but stranger things have happened. We met some friends at Borders this evening had some coffee and a nice visit. It was good to get out of the house for a while. Now Toby is acting like he has been completely abandoned he was sitting in the middle of Jim's book that he is trying to read and I cannot have the laptop on my lap because he will burrow under it. Crazy dog, he is so needy but that is why we love him.

Today marks 4 months of waiting for Little Miss!! We went to Jim’s parent’s house to help with the yard sale they were having. We weren’t much help but we had a good time hanging out for a while. We left with all intentions of heading home to clean house but we got hungry and went into town for lunch. That lead to a discussion about recliners (don’t ask how, I have no idea) so we headed out to furniture stores “just to look.” We should never “just look” because it always turns into “just buying.” We ordered 2 Lazy Boy recliners . They should be here in 4-8 weeks. In our defense, we have been talking about getting recliners for a long time but I have avoided shopping for them because I know what happens when we “just look.” This is precisely why I will not let Jim take me to a car lot to “just test drive.” On another subject I thought I would explain the name of the blog.
