No Ordinary Family

Since we are still waiting for China, which is still probably years away from getting to us I thought I would still keep track of referrals on the blog.  So referrals started arriving Monday and they got to April 17th 2006.  Just a reminder we are April 25, 2007, still over a year of LID's.  There are now 373 LIDs until our date.  They referred 6 days this time which means I need to get 6 bucks to put in the piggy bank.  I think we are most definitely on the slow boat to China but the boat is moving so we have not jumped off yet. No word on BB.  We hope to get some information next week when a new employee starts in Burundi.  Things are still kinda rocky but we have not given up hope yet. It has been kind of a cruddy day.  We woke up this morning and all of our fish were dead in our reef tank.  We were having some filter problems and thought we had fixed it but apparently not.  Things at work are not going the greatest...

So do you think we could figure out how to add a toddler to this picture?

Jim and I are just relaxing on this fine Easter day.  I have a huge ham (well huge for 2 people) in the oven and an angel food cake cooling.  The ham will last us all week and for 99 cents a pound, it should help out on the grocery bill a bit.  I love angel food cake I think it is my absolute favorite.  I have even made it from scratch once.  It was delicious but way too much work to make from scratch and there was not that much difference in taste so now I just buy the box but I had to give it a try.  And now I can say that I have done it and move back to my easy mixes. So I think we should have a pretty good meal, I will add some veggies to it, maybe a salad and a few potatoes. It is a gorgeous day here and the dogs are hating the kids next door hunting eggs.  They are showing their extreme dislike by running along the fence barking.  Oh well the kids need a little challenge right?  Ok, we called them inside we are not completely mean nei...

I am finding my self with little to say or blog about.  We are getting peices of information about the adoption but we have to figure out how they work themselves into the big picture.  We don't have any Easter plans so we will probably just stay home and relax.  Jim is going to draw some I think we need to get ready for the next coloring book, this one is going to take some time but I think it will be great.  We have been watching my parent's dog this week.  Pepper is a giant black dog that is so sweet.  I was able to get a picture of the "cousins" by holding a toy above the camera.  You hear people with kids talk about how hard it is to get a picture with more than one kid looking in the same direction but I am quite sure doing this with 3 dogs is even harder. The vacation ends tomorrow then the slumber parties and pillow dog toy fights end as well.  But we welcome her back any time. Have a great Easter Weekend everyone.

Happy Birthday to Jim!  Yes he might be really old :0) but we all still love him!  Even Toby does not seem to mind his tortures.

Jim and I got pictures of Kwizera on Wednesday, at first we were of course elated but the email that followed brought up some troubling questions.  We want this boy to be our son more than anything but we have serious doubts that it will ever happen.  I wanted to share this with everyone so that you know we are having to make some very tough decisions.  We still plan on creating a family though adoption but we really are not sure how that is going to happen at this point. We appreciate all of your support as we go through the next few months trying to learn the path we are meant to take.
