Weekend Happenings and Wonderful Surprise

Hope everyone had a great weekend. I had a good weekend. Saturday we went shopping and Jim and I both got some clothes to wear on our trip. We are getting very excited and I think we will be able to fill our days with lots of fun activities. It was so nice on Saturday we were going to take the dogs to the park but after our shopping trip we were both tired so we thought it would be better on Sunday.

So I made some sandwiches and packed some snacks and drinks. The nice weather we had on Saturday decided to leave us and it was a little chilly at the park. So we ate our lunch in the truck and then took the dogs for a walk they did not care if it was a little cold. We scared some ducks and got some exercise it was a good trip.

We then went to my Grandma's house. My Aunt Karen was in town and she called to say I needed to come by and pick something up that her daughter bought for me, in the truck. I was intrigued, which daughter and what did she find for me? Well, it was Katie and it is more for Little Miss than me. She found this adorable handmade rocker/cradle combo at a yard sale for her choir. I can just see Little Miss rocking her dolly in that. Grandma even knitted a little doll blanket for it. We will have to find a space for it in her room. It is hard to believe that this little girl who may not even be born yet has so many people that love her and can't wait to meet her. I think about her all the time but I sometimes forget others are thinking about her also. Thank you Katie it was so thoughtful.

When we got home I worked on blankets a little but did not get as far as I would have liked. I am not very organized and I am having a hard time decided which backs to put on which blankets and what color thread to use, too many choices.

I have also been meaning to post about the above but it took me a while to remember to bring my camera to work. A gal that works for me gave me the Bamboo and the vase, just because. It really brightened my day, such a wonderful surprise after a long busy week at work. See the vase with the green water holds my guppies but it is having some sort of algae issue. I do change the water and clean it out (really I know no one believes me) but the next day it is green again. The fish seem happy and the plant is doing wonderful so I am a little afraid to put the fish in the new home. The two things that worry me are 1. The green water may be contagious and 2. The fish will die of shock by being put into clear water. So I may leave them where they are for now and just enjoy the beautiful clear water for a while.

I am so glad that you like it! I just fell in love with it because it was something I could see myself loving when I was a little girl...or something my sister and I would fight over who got to use. :)

Well, shucks, I wasn't the first to post. I love reading your posts! And, yes, it was a cute little rocker-thingy...even if it is girl stuff.

I have never seen anything like it. I think it is really cute and I know Little Miss will probably want to crawl into the bed and want to be rocked by one of you. I think Papa will enjoy helping her play with it too. Even if she is not impressed with it right off the bat just wait until one of her cousins or friends show any interest in it and it will become her favorite toy. I sure love that little girl already.
