No Ordinary Family

Other than wearing green we did not do much in the way of "traditional" celebrating.  We spent our day at the park and then McDonalds for lunch.     I took some video and Jim got some great pictures that I am sure he will be posting in the near future.   Chloe enjoyed ketchup and the cheese off of her cheese burger at lunch.    I tried to tempt her with a fry :) Then it was nap time.  I don't think she could fit anymore "friends" in her bed. Chloe doesn't really watch TV much she can't sit still long enough. Today she found Toy Story and wanted to watch "Tato Head"  She found a "comfy" seat with Baby Dolly in the doll cradle I had as a child.  I needs a bit of repair but Chloe doesn't seem to mind. It wasn't long before Baby Dolly was kicked out and the cradle was all hers. She finally noticed Mom taking pictures.   About 5 minutes later she was up and running again. 

I love doing comparison pictures.  It was a little than a year ago when we first went to the zoo. We had a great time at the Zoo!  It was more fun than last year.  Chloe's favorites included the giraffes elephants and monkeys!  We counted the meerkats and hissed like snakes.  It was a great day! We found a Peacock that wasn't in an enclosure! That is one big cat.  Chloe was in awe of how big all the animals were. Chloe even took some video of the silly gorillas.  This one kept climbing up high and swinging and jumping.  Chloe loved it until she fell off the steps and bumped her head.  Later she shook her finger at the gorilla statues and said "No more monkeys jumping on the bed"  She is so funny! I think this is the first time we have caught the orangutans out and this one was just staring at all the weird people.  Mommy got the camera away from daddy for a little while. We had a great day.  Jim's parents we able to come up and spend some time with Chloe so that Jim and I could get a little shopping done.  We also went out for lunch, by ourselves!  It was such a treat.   We gave Chloe an early Christmas gift.  She need a hat as I am always losing the one that covers her ear good and Target had this adorable panda one on sale 40% off!  Chloe loves "pambas."   After wrapping a few more gifts, we decided to decorate the house, the gingerbread house that is!  It was a ton of fun.  Chloe was more into eating the candy than decorating with it but she sure had fun.  This was the first time we got one of these kits and i think it will be a part of our Christmas traditions.  So much fun, we had to go for a walk when we were done to help Chloe release some of the energy the all that candy had given her.  We went and looked at lights.  Chloe loves lights, when we would get close to a house with l...

We got the lights on the house today!  We still have a bit of decorating to do out side, like a wreath, maybe I can talk Jim into more lights :) While we were at Wal-Mart today looking for more lights we had a surprise encounter with the Man in Red, aka Santa.  Chloe was a little unsure of the big guy but she did really well.  It helped that he gave her candy, that man knows the secret to a 2 year old's heart.  Her first candy cane was also a hit!   I think Santa is going to be a hit and hopefully by the end of the season we might get a smiling picture. And just because she has a beautiful smile!  As you can see monkey is her new BFF!  She loves wearing a monkey on her back and it cracks me up.  Today she came out of her room wearing a sweater, the monkey and a tutu she has a great since of style!

Toddlers are amazing!  Last year I posted a picture of Leah all dressed up and this year I am able to post a picture of the 2 girls together!  They had so much fun dressing up for their Halloween photo shoot.  Jim (aka Daddy, aka uncle Jim) took these so I can't take credit but I was one of the toddler wranglers. "We are supposed to do what with these pumpkins?" "Peek a boo I see you" Focus Schmocus LEAVES! I might be a bit biased but I think they make the cutest trick or treators out there.  

Molly and Leah came to visit and so we thought after nap time we would all head out and get the girls some pumpkins. We went to a "Pumpkin Patch" only to find that there was not a pumpkin patch but just some pumpkins on the ground and a they wanted a small fortune just to walk in.  Yes, they had a corn maze and other things but we just wanted a real pumpkin patch.  So we took a couple pictures and moved on. I mean seriously we could have spent more than $50 just to go pick out a pumpkin that someone already picked and put on the grass, I don't think so! We found a place just up the road from our house that had a real Pumpkin Patch, like It's The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown pumpkin patch, we scored. We will definitively be back next year.  So if you are in the area check out the pumpkins for sale on Mieras Road, follow the signs off highway 24. I think everyone came away happy!

Just spending a day in our PJ's watching Laurie Berkner on YouTube.  We had a rough night of not much sleep, it is the time of year for colds and we all have one.   We might have over done it a little celebrating this little one's first Birthday.  I find it hard to believe that he was born just one year ago. Chloe enjoyed playing with her cousins.  It is so great to finally have her at these gatherings although it means we do more chasing and less picture taking.   But today we are just nursing our runny noses and swollen eyes, wearing PJ's and Elmo shirt. I think it is time for a nap.
