Baby Shower for BB

A few weeks ago my Mother-in-law let me know that her church friends wanted to throw me a baby shower. I was more than honored but I have to admit that I was more than a bit nervous about this shower since I really don't know a lot of these people and we just don't know what is happening with the adoption right now. We really feel stuck in limbo. I did not know how they would take the uncertianty but they were great and they know that adoption is a journey and that this would help me with this wait.

It turned out so nice. We played a few fun games but they we not competitive at all and I love that. I don't usually like baby shower or party games because of the competition so this was so me. We had refreshments and chatted it was really, really lovely.

The pictures did not turn out that well, I do hope that someone else got some good ones they can share but here are some anyway.

I got a lot of great things for BB. He is already so loved, I just wish that we would get word that we can bring him home soon.

Grandma Yvonne (Jim's Mom) being the leader of the fun games

The adorable jungle themed cake

Here is me learning that there is such a thing as liquid baby powder...who knew...

Me with the adorable hooded towel made my Grandma Yvonne

The towel (close up)

Everything filled up the crib when I got home I wanted to get a picture before starting putting it all away.

I had to get a close up of these guys, I just love stuffed animals and they are both so cute and soft.

After the shower Emily and I headed back to her house where we met the boys and the dogs and we cooled off in the pool and had BBQ steak. It was 105 when we got to her house so the pool was very inviting.

Toby decided since we were a block away from the house he needed a front row seat. No, I don't normally let him up there but he was only there for a pic then it was off to Jim's lap.

I hope everyone had a great weekend, I certainly did. Thanks to some very special ladies that made me feel really welcome!

The towel is wonderful! What a thoughtful event for your mother in law to plan for you and Jim and BB. I pray everyday for you and a VERY speedy trip to Burundi for you!! Tell Toby he's too short to drive!!
WOW~ You cleaned up! The hooded towel is really cool. Those stuffed animals crack me up...is that a yak or mountain goat? I had NO idea that there was liquid baby powder.

And BB in the middle of that cake is just TOOOOOO cute!

Hi Cora --

Thank you for leaving a comment on my blog - I really appreciate it. Congrats to you as well for having less than 400 referral dates to go for Little Miss.

The baby shower for BB looks like it was wonderful. Here's hoping you will get some updated news soon and traveling won't be that far off.

I'm still quilting - busy summer = not so much time to finish what I've started. Soon though - at least that's what I keep telling myself.

I hope you and Jim have a great night and rest of the week.
