3 years

So for those that might not know today is the day we have been logged in to China for 3 years!  OMG!  Yes really 3 years waiting for our China adoption.  Progress is happening but it is so slow we do not expect a referral any time soon (the next few years).  I wrote this really sentimental post about what the last 3 years have meant to  me but I just can't hit publish.  I'm just not feeling it today.  It has been a good weekend and a good day and I am not going to dwell on the long wait today, tomorrow you never know I might get to feeling sappy again.

So yesterday and today we worked in the yard.  It felt so good even though I had to take 2 benadryl's before bed last night and tonight my face is a little, ok, a lot redder than usual. The house...well it suffered a bit, inside, but I will catch up with that later.  There is just something therapeutic about getting dirt under your nails and planting pretty things.  I did help the neighbor girl plant some flowers in a bigger pot and my heart ached for children.  She is about 10 and oh so sweet, I could keep her.  She also has made best friends with Gypsy but who doesn't.

We have also discovered that when working in the front yard if you only have one dog they behave but if you get them both out there they IMPOSSIBLE to control.  I know you might not believe this but even Toby stays in the yard.

Here are some lovely pictures of our hard work and my slight sunburn even though it was cloudy or I was in the shade all day wearing a hat and 25 spf sunscreen can't a red head with fair skin get a break.

This is a little garden we did in the back yard, a new clematis and a honey suckle.  The clematis that is there is about 3 years old.  I will take a picture when it blooms it is SO pretty.  We still have some work to do on this garden but I think we will love it.

That is such a cute picture of you. Rosy cheeks and all.
Your yard is looking great.

I think it looks great! I can't believe how a little rock work just gives the house a lived-in look and makes it...just awesome!

It is worth the soreness I am feeling...all over.

Thanks for a great weekend!

It looks great! Now that we live in an upstairs apartment it's hard to plant things. I miss gardening.

I hear ya on the waiting part. I stopped counting at 3 years and honestly couldn't tell you what number we are at now. It's hard to keep the Faith.
3 years...I hope that it's the top of the hill and you have (much) less than 3 years left.
The garden looks good! Our clematis was slow at first, but now several years later it is HUGE. I used to cut it back in the winter, but now I leave it and the new growth starts from the old dead areas. I need a trellis for one of mine!

3 years - I remember that April well as we turned in our paperwork. I am still amazed/shocked that the wait has grown so very long. Thinking of you and Jim and knowing that you will have her home one day! I love the garden and find it rather therapeutic to dig in the dirt. I also LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your haircut!
