No Ordinary Family

I woke her up from her nap today and I was told "but I'm still tired" and then she promptly fell back asleep in my chair.  She has been making "nests" in the front room lately, she has a few friends :)  We went to the park Saturday for a little photo shoot, I can't believe how grown up this girl is getting.  How is it that she will be 3 in just a month?  Where does the time go? We have had some serious ups and downs on the sleeping front.  We went through several really good nights where although she came into our bed about half way through the night she went to bed really easy.  That is a major win in my book.  But then last night we have fit after fit and I don't think anyone in the house got much sleep.  I hope tonight is back sleeping at least 1/2 the night in her own bed. I got my camera back this week too so I might actually get a few more pictures that I have taken up on the blog.  I have got to say Cannon'...

WARNING WHINE-FEST AHEAD I just can't seem to bring myself to blog lately.  This summer has not really turned out the way we thought.  There have been great times don't get me wrong but there has been a lot of unexpected things come up.  I think the first was hand foot and mouth disease, Chloe got sick first and it was the sickest I have ever seen her.  She was down for about a week and then Jim got it, I missed that one. A couple weeks later Chloe had to stay with a different babysitter because my mom and dad went on vacation and that did not go well.  Chloe hated it there and everyday I noticed something that I didn't like.  So after 3 days we pulled her out and made other arrangements.  Thank goodness for friends and family who stepped in and helped us out! Chloe is getting really good at "reading" her books.  This is one of her favorites.  She also really likes Clara and Asha  and all the Fancy Nancy books although she tell me she does not like Skippy Jon Jones .  I am trying to take more video.  I looked back a year and it is hard to believe how much she has grown up in a couple months she will be 3 where does the time go?

I couldn't help but grab my camera when giving Chloe a bath the other night.  She was asking for privacy so I kept them modest but somehow I think she was OK with the pictures.  Love this girl!

I try to post I really do.  This is an example of what happens, I start writing then BAM, yes I said BAM a small being wakes up and I abandon all hope of returning to previously written blog.  Here is what I wrote the other night and I have added a video I took tonight just for fun. We are headed to Chloe's favorite place tomorrow, the Doctor's Office!  I am not being sarcastic she really does love the doctor.  She tells us daily that she wants to be a doctor when she grows up.  Every time we have an owie or even when we don't she fixes us with her doctor kit.  My favorite part is when she is fixing Daddy's latest owie and will say something like "It's OK daddy, don't cwry I know it hurts really bad"  then she gives him a couple shots.  Then she tells him to pick his dinosaur up at the front desk, like in one of her favorite books, When Dinosaurs Came with Everything. These pictures I took a couple of weeks ago but I forgot to post them so I thought they would be a perfect addition today. Jim wanted to go out of town this weekend to celebrate the day but it didn't work out that way. So instead we got new bicycles.  They are so much fun, I really forgot how much fun it is to ride.  It will be a great way to get exercise, since walking just does not seem to happen.  Chloe seems to like it, too, she especially likes her new helmet. I will post pictures later, when I remember to take them. Other than that we have been just taking it slow this weekend.  The kitten is fitting right in and has perfected being lazy.  He has gotten back some of that kitten spunk and he things everything on the floor is his enemy and he must pounce on it with great gusto.  I think we have settled on Calvin as a name, taken from Calvin and Hobbs . So today I ended up going to lunch rather late and even though I was planning on staying in the office for lunch I got a craving for Chinese food.  There is a pretty good little Chinese place just down the road from work so I decided to go there.  When I walked in there was a tiny orange and white kitten by the door getting out of the rain.  It really didn't want to move when I opened the door but it scurried around the building.  I told the waitress that there was a kitten by the door she went out to see but didn't find anything. I ate my lunch and on my way out I looked for the kitten around the back of the building just to see if he was still there.  I kinda felt bad for the little guy being stuck out in the rain like that.  But I didn't see him and I thought that he must have found a new place to hide.  Apparently he did.
